On the renaming of the Nordic Biosite Group to Europa Biosite

Since its foundation in 1968, Biomol GmbH has had a long history: from a name change, new partnerships, the first website and the entry into international business, everything has been there and has contributed to Biomol's growth. One milestone was the addition of Biomol to the Nordic BioSite Group in 2021, which has now been renamed Europa Biosite.

"Nordic" becomes "Europa"

The Nordic Biosite Group started in Sweden in 1997 as a life science distributor and expanded its commercial ambitions by merging with Sanbio in 2019 to conquer the European market. Two years later, Biomol was the next company to be integrated into the group, followed by Szabo-Scandic from Austria and Cambridge Bioscience from the UK. The combination of the acquisition of these first-class life science suppliers and strong organic growth has led to a five-fold increase in sales in these four years.

Now there is exciting news: On September 11, 2023, the addition of Swiss life science distributor LubioScience to the Nordic Biosite Group was announced. The company is the fastest growing distributor of biochemical products in Switzerland. As a result, the group companies are spread across Europe and can jointly offer exceptional distribution services. In order to recognize this geographical expansion of the Nordic Biosite Group in addition to its economic growth, the Group will in future be known by a new name: Nordic BioSite Group will become Europa Biosite. This reflects our ambition to become the leading supplier of life science products throughout Europe. Our vision for the future is to consolidate our leading position in Europe through further pioneering acquisitions and continued high organic growth.

The logo should also reflect our collaboration and all member companies of Europa Biosite - including Biomol GmbH - will receive a new logo. The shape is based on a DNA helix and represents our connection to the life sciences, while the colors correspond to the founding companies: From top to bottom, Cambridge Bioscience, Nordic Biosite, Szabo-Scandic, Biomol and Sanbio are thus represented at a glance. As sad as we are to let our Erlenmeyer flask go, the Biomol blue lives on in the new logo.

For our customers, our participation in Europa Biosite means that they have access to a wide range of products across Europe, while the shared resources and expertise will increase product quality and lead to new innovations. Conversely, for our suppliers this means that we can offer stable and long-term partnerships and you can benefit from our advanced processes and procedures. The Europa Biosite website has also been online since October.
