Product Search Tips
Useful Tips for a Successful Product Search
Our portfolio comprises more than one million research products. Quite a lot of substance for the life sciences! Because of that the search can sometimes take a little longer. To make it as easy as possible for you to find the product you are looking for, we have put together some helpful search tips here:
- All our products have English titles and descriptions. Therefore, use English search terms.
- Write out Greek letters - i.e. "alpha" instead of α or "beta" instead of β.
- Do not add "and" when entering multiple search terms.
- Use the singular (e.g. "antibody" instead of "antibodies").
- If available, try synonyms (e.g. for a specific protein).
- You can search for chemical substances using the unique CAS number (Chemical Abstracts Service).
- In addition, you can also use the UniProt or KEGG accession number for the product search.
- Use our filter function to narrow down your search results. If you want to remove a selected filter again, click on the small "x" next to the filter.
- Are you looking for products from a specific supplier? Then enter the corresponding supplier name and select it in the appearing suggestion field. Alternatively, you can also use our supplier overview.
- Use - if known - the specific product number. Especially for short numbers, note the supplier code in front of each number for most of our partners (e.g. for AAT Bioquest "ABD-121" instead of just "121").

Prefixes of the Supplier Product Numbers
Below you will find all the prefixes we use for our product numbers. Place this prefix in front of the original supplier product number to find the product you are looking for more quickly. For example, if you are looking for the product with the number 20651 (Calbryte™ 520 AM) from AAT Bioquest, it is best to enter the term "ABD-20651" in the search field so that your search is more precise.
"No code" indicates that either a corresponding prefix from the manufacturer itself is already present at the beginning of the number (this is then in the brackets) or that we have taken over the product number unchanged (uc):
Quantities
For some manufacturers/products, we put the quantity (e.g. volume or mass) at the end of the respective product number. These are separated from the rest of the number by either a period or a dash. Below you can see some examples:
- Anti-ETV6 from AAT Bioquest: Original Product Number 8C10593; Biomol Product Number ABD-8C10593.50 (for 50 µg)
- FAO Assay Kit from Assay Genie: Original Product Number BR00001; Biomol Product Number G-BR00001.48 (for 48 assays)
