Catalyzes C14-demethylation of lanosterol which is critical for ergosterol biosynthesis. It transforms lanosterol into 4,4'-dimethyl cholesta-8,14,24-triene-3-beta-ol. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa1-20 from saccharomyces cerevisiae ERG11, fused to GST-Tag at N-terminal expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~29.1kD, AA Sequence: MSATKSIVGEALEYVNIGLS, Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
