Product information "Tumor necrosis factor (TNF), partial (Active), rabbit, recombinant"
Organism: Oryctolagus cuniculus (Rabbit). Source: E.coli. Expression Region: 78-235aa. Protein Length: Partial. Tag Info: Tag-Free. Target Protein Sequence: VTLRSASRAL SDKPLAHVVA NPQVEGQLQW LSQRANALLA NGMKLTDNQL VVPADGLYLI YSQVLFSGQG CRSYVLLTHT VSRFAVSYPN KVNLLSAIKS PCHRETPEEA EPMAWYEPIY LGGVFQLEKG DRLSTEVNQP EYLDLAESGQ VYFGIIAL. Purity: Greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Endotoxin: Less than 1.0 EU/µg as determined by LAL method. Biological Activity: The ED50 as determined in a cytotoxicity assay using L-929 mouse fibroblast cells in the presence of the metabolic inhibitor actinomycin D is 3.5 pg/ml. Form: Lyophilized powder. Buffer: Lyophilized from a 0.2 µm filtered 20 mM PB, 300 mM NaCl, pH 7.4. Reconstitution: We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20 °C/-80 °C. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference. Storage: The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself. Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20 °C/-80 °C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20 °C/-80 °C. Notes: Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4 °C for up to one week. Relevance: Tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNFalpha) is the prototypic ligand of the TNF superfamily. TNFalpha forms a homotrimer and functions by activating two types of receptors TNF-R1 (TNF receptor type 1,p55R) and TNF-R2 (TNF receptor type 2,p75R). TNFalpha is a pleiotropic cytokine that is capable to promote inflammation, to induce apoptotic cell death, and to inhibit tumorigenesis and viral replication. TNFalpha is a potent lymphoid factor that exerts cytotoxic effects on a wide range of tumor cells and certain other target cells. Reference: n/a. Function: Cytokine that binds to TNFRSF1A/TNFR1 and TNFRSF1B/TNFBR. It is mainly secreted by macrophages and can induce cell death of certain tumor cell lines. It is potent pyrogen causing fever by direct action or by stimulation of interleukin-1 secretion and is implicated in the induction of cachexia, Under certain conditions it can stimulate cell proliferation and induce cell differentiation., FUNCTION
