Product information "Platelet-derived growth factor subunit B (Pdgfb) (Active), mouse, recombinant"
Organism: Mus musculus (Mouse). Source: E.coli. Expression Region: 82-190aa. Protein Length: Full Length of Mature Protein. Tag Info: C-terminal 6xHis-tagged. Target Protein Sequence: SLGSLAAAEP AVIAECKTRT EVFQISRNLI DRTNANFLVW PPCVEVQRCS GCCNNRNVQC RASQVQMRPV QVRKIEIVRK KPIFKKATVT LEDHLACKCE TVVTPRPVT. Purity: Greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Endotoxin: Less than 1.0 EU/µg as determined by LAL method. Biological Activity: The ED50 as determined in a cell proliferation assay using Balb/c3T3 mouse fibroblast cells is 1.55 ng/ml. Form: Lyophilized powder. Buffer: Lyophilized from a 0.2 µm filtered 4 mM HCl. Reconstitution: We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20 °C/-80 °C. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference. Storage: The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself. Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20 °C/-80 °C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20 °C/-80 °C. Notes: Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4 °C for up to one week. Relevance: Platelet-Derived Growth Factor Subunit B (PDGFB) belongs to the PDGF/VEGF growth factor family. Platelet-derived growth factor is a potent mitogen for cells of mesenchymal origin. PDGFB can exist either as a homodimer (PDGF-BB) or as a heterodimer with the platelet-derived growth factor alpha polypeptide (PDGF-AB), where the dimers are connected by disulfide bonds. As growth factor,it plays an essential role in the regulation of embryonic development, cell proliferation, cell migration, survival and chemotaxis. It is required for normal proliferation and recruitment of pericytes and vascular smooth muscle cells in the central nervous system, skin, lung, heart and placenta. PDGFB also plays an important role in wound healing. Reference: n/a. Function: Growth factor that plays an essential role in the regulation of embryonic development, cell proliferation, cell migration, survival and chemotaxis. Potent mitogen for cells of mesenchymal origin. Required for normal proliferation and recruitment of pericytes and vascular smooth muscle cells in the central nervous system, skin, lung, heart and placenta. Required for normal blood vessel development, and for normal development of kidney glomeruli. Plays an important role in wound healing. Signaling is modulated by the formation of heterodimers with PDGFA.
