Product information "Interleukin-8 (CXCL8), partial (Active), human, recombinant"
Organism: Homo sapiens (Human). Source: E.Coli. Expression Region: 23-99aa. Protein Length: Partial. Tag Info: Tag-Free. Target Protein Sequence: AVLPRSAKEL RCQCIKTYSK PFHPKFIKEL RVIESGPHCA NTEIIVKLSD GRELCLDPKE NWVQRVVEKF LKRAENS. Purity: >96% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Endotoxin: Less than 1.0 EU/µg as determined by LAL method. Biological Activity: Fully biologically active when compared to standard. The ED50 as determined by a chemotaxis bioassay using human CXCR2 transfected mouse BaF3 cells is less than 2 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of > 5.0 ×105 IU/mg. Form: Lyophilized powder. Buffer: Lyophilized from a 0.2 µm filtered PBS, pH 7.4. Reconstitution: We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20 °C/-80 °C. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference. Storage: The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself. Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20 °C/-80 °C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20 °C/-80 °C. Notes: Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4 °C for up to one week. Relevance: IL-8 is a chemotactic factor that attracts neutrophils, basophils, and T-cells, but not monocytes. It is also involved in neutrophil activation. It is released from several cell types in response to an inflammatory stimulus. IL-8(6-77) has a 5-10-fold higher activity on neutrophil activation, IL-8(5-77) has increased activity on neutrophil activation and IL-8(7-77) has a higher affinity to receptors CXCR1 and CXCR2 as compared to IL-8(1-77), respectively. {ECO:0000269, PubMed:11978786, ECO:0000269, PubMed:2145175, ECO:0000269, PubMed:2212672}.
