3-Epideoxycholic acid (EDCA) is a secondary bile acid and an epimer of deoxycholic acid (Cay-20756, Cay-18231). EDCA has been used as a steroidal host compound for the enantioselective purification of (2R,3S)-3-methyl-2-pentanol from its racemates via enclathration.
