Product information "Acridinium C2, NHS Ester"
The acridinium NHS ester can be used to label proteins and nucleic acids. The covalently bound acridinium NHS esters generate chemiluminescence in the presence of hydrogen peroxide. Exposure of an acridinium ester label to an alkaline hydrogen peroxide solution triggers a flash of light. Acridinium-labeled proteins and other biological molecules can be used as sensitive detection methods in immunoassays and other biological detections. This acridinium C2 NHS can be readily used for labeling proteins (such as antibodies) and other amino-containing biomolecules. Compared to Lumiwox(TM) acridinium NHS ester (#26000), the acridinium label is released from the carrier (such as proteins) upon hydrogen peroxide activation. If you need the acridinium ester label remains bonded with the carrier, you would need use Lumiwox(TM) acridinium NHS ester instead. Trigger solution containing (A) 0.1% H2O2+ 0.1 M HNO31 and (B) 0.25 M NaOH + 2% Triton-100 can be used to detect the signal in chemiluminescence analyzer.
