Nourseothricin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic produced by Streptomyces variants that inhibits protein synthesis by inducing miscoding. It is commonly used as a dominant selection antibiotic for genetically modified bacteria, yeasts, fungi, protozoa, plants, and mammalian cells.
