Imirestat

Imirestat is an inhibitor of aldose reductase (IC50s = 24 and 18 nM for the rat and human enzymes, respectively). It reduces periodontal bone loss in a rat model of P. gingivalis LPS-induced periodontal inflammation and bone reabsorption when administered in the diet at 0.0125% (w/w).
