Product information "Gliotoxin"
Description: Gliotoxin, a Wnt signaling pathway inhibitor, induces growth inhibition and apoptosis in multiple colorectal cancer cell lines with mutations of the Wnt signaling pathway. Gliotoxin is a mycotoxin produced by several moulds such as Aspergillus fumigatus. Gliotoxin activates PKA and increases intracellular cAMP concentration and inhibits inducible NF-kappaB activity by preventing IkappaB degradation, which consequently induces host-cell apoptosis. Target: Apoptosis, Antibacterial, COX, Antifection, Wnt/beta-catenin, PKA, NF-kappaB. Smiles: CN1C(=O)[C@]23CC4=CC=C[C@H](O)[C@H]4N2C(=O)[C@@]1(CO)SS3. References: Zhang C, et al.
