Gemfibrozil 1-O-beta-glucuronide is a major metabolite of gemfibrozil (Cay-14835) that is formed when gemfibrozil undergoes glucuronidation by UDP-glucuronosyltransferase (UGT) 2B7. Gemfibrozil 1-O-beta-glucuronide is an inhibitor of the cytochrome P450 (CYP) isoform CYP2C8 (IC50 = 4.1 µM).
