White powder. Soluble in methanol or acetone. Slightly soluble in water (0.5mg/ml). Systemic and selective herbicide. Mode of action is through inhibition of acetolactate synthase ALS (acetohydroxyacid synthase AHAS), which causes a blockade of the biosynthesis of amino acids with branched side chains, such as L-Leucin, L-Isoleucin and L-Valin. Compound can be used as analytical reference material.
