Cy3 EGFP encodes for EGFP protein, serving as a positive control for mRNA transfection. This product is used to screen and validate delivery systems. Cy3 fluorescence tracks location of mRNA. Protein function: Energy-transfer acceptor. Its role is to transduce the blue chemiluminescence of the protein aequorin into green fluorescent light by energy transfer. Fluoresces in vivo upon receiving energy from the Ca(2+)-activated photoprotein aequorin. [The UniProt Consortium]
