Product information "Anti-phospho-BID, (Ser61) (Bcl-2 Interacting Domain, BH3 Interacting Domain Death Agonist)"
Bid is a death agonist that heterodimerizes with either agonist BAX or antagonist BCL2. The encoded protein is a member of the BCL-2 family of cell death regulators. Bid induces ICE-like proteases and apoptosis. It is a mediator of mitochondrial damage induced by caspase-8 (CASP8), CASP8 cleaves this encoded protein, and the major proteolytic product p15 Bid translocates to mitochondria where it triggers cytochrome c release. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:100-1:500, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Jurkat cell lysate , Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
