Anti-Retinol Binding Protein 4 (RBP4, PRBP, PRO2222)

Also known as plasma retinol-binding protein, RBP4 is secreted from the liver and delivers retinol (vitamin A) from the liver to the peripheral tissues. In plasma, the RBP4-retinol complex interacts with transthyretin (TTR), also known as thyroxine-binding protein and prealbumin. The aa sequence of mouse RBP4 is 99.5%, 86%, 83% and 76% identical to that of rat, human/chimpanzee, dog and chicken. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 0.05-2ug/ml, Flow Cytometry: 2.5ug per 1M cells, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: Myeloma cells with B cells from Balb/c mice. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
