Anti-Mouse IL-6

This product is an IgG fraction antibody purified from monospecific antiserum by a multi-step process which includes delipidation, salt fractionation and ion exchange chromatography followed by extensive dialysis against the buffer stated above.  This antibody is specific for mouse IL-6 protein. A BLAST analysis was used to suggest cross-reactivity with IL-6 from mouse sources based on 100% homology with the immunizing sequence. Based on 94% homology, there is a chance of cross-reactivity to IL-6 from rat. Cross-reactivity with IL-6 from other sources has not been determined. Protein function: Cytokine with a wide variety of biological functions. It is a potent inducer of the acute phase response. Plays an essential role in the final differentiation of B-cells into Ig- secreting cells Involved in lymphocyte and monocyte differentiation. It induces myeloma and plasmacytoma growth and induces nerve cells differentiation Acts on B-cells, T-cells, hepatocytes, hematopoietic progenitor cells and cells of the CNS. Also acts as a myokine.
