Anti-Interferon alpha (IFNa)

Interferons (IFNs) are proteins made and released by lymphocytes in response to the presence of pathogens-such as viruses, bacteria, or parasites-or tumor cells. They allow communication between cells to trigger the protective defenses of the immune system that eradicate pathogens or tumors. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Neutralization and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Endotoxin: <1EU/ug , Biological Activity: , Interferon was titrated with the use of the cytopathic effect inhibition assay, where 1 unit/ml of interferon was necessary to produce an endpoint of 50%. Unit Definition: One neutralization unit is defined as the amount of serum required to neutralize one unit of human IFN alpha to an endpoint of 50%. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
