Excitatory amino acid transporter 1 (EAAT1) is a glutamate transporter (GluT). It rapidly removes L-glutamate from the synaptic cleft which is essential for terminating the postsynaptic action of glutamate. EAAT1 is also known as high affinity sodium-dependent glutamate/aspartate transporter 1 (GLAST1). EAAT1 is highly expressed in cerebellum but is also found in the frontal cortex, hippocampus and basal ganglia. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. , Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 0.5-1.0 ug/ml., Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
