Anti-Glut2

This affinity-purified Glut-2 antibody is directed against Glut2 protein. The product was affinity purified from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity purification. A BLAST analysis was used to suggest cross-reactivity with Glut2 from mouse and rat based on a 100% homology with the immunizing sequence. Reactivity against homologues from other sources is not known. Protein function: Facilitative glucose transporter. This isoform likely mediates the bidirectional transfer of glucose across the plasma membrane of hepatocytes and is responsible for uptake of glucose by the beta cells, may comprise part of the glucose-sensing mechanism of the beta cell. May also participate with the Na(+)/glucose cotransporter in the transcellular transport of glucose in the small intestine and kidney. [The UniProt Consortium]
