Product information "Anti-Glial Fibrillary Acidic Protein, clone SPM248"
0.2 mg/ml with 0.1 mg/ml BSA (US sourced), 0.05% sodium azide. Glial Fibrillary Acidic Protein is specifically found in astroglia, making it a very popular marker for localizing benign astrocyte and neoplastic cells of glial origin in the central nervous system. Ab to GFAP is useful in differentiating primary gliomas from metastatic lesions in the brain and for documenting astrocytic differentiation in tumors outside the CNS. Protein function: GFAP, a class-III intermediate filament, is a cell- specific marker that, during the development of the central nervous system, distinguishes astrocytes from other glial cells.
