Ghrelin is the ligand for growth hormone secretagogue receptor type 1 (GHSR) and upon binding to the receptor it induces the release of growth hormone from the pituitary. This ligand has an appetite-stimulating effect and is involved in growth regulation. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry: 1:3000, Optimal dilution to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Sheep abomasum. No staining is evident when the primary antibody is pre-absorbed with 0.5 mg/ml of human ghrelin. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile 40-50% glycerol, ddH2O. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. Aliquot and store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
