Product information "Anti-Fucosyltransferase 5 (alpha (1,3) Fucosyltransferase, FUT5)"
FUT5 (alpha-1, 3-fucosyltransferase 5, also Fuc-TV) is a 43kD member of the glycosyltransferase 10 family. It is responsible for the terminal step in the synthesis of Le, sialyl-Le, and Le antigens. This is accomplished by the transfer of fucose to preexisting LacNAc or sialyl-LacNAc structures. Human FUT5 is 374 amino acids (aa) in length. It is a type II transmembrane Golgi glycoprotein with a C-terminal lumenal domain (aa35-374). The catalytic domain spans aa77-374, while the acceptor-binding motif includes aa120-126. FUT5 is the product of a single exon gene. Thus, there are no splice variants. FUT5 only occurs in primates, there is no rodent ortholog. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunoprecipitation, ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: ELISA: 0.5-1ug/ml. The detection limit for rhFUT3 and rhFUT5 is ~0.3ng/ml., Western Blot: 0.1-0.2ug/ml. The detection limit for rhFUT3 and rhFUT5 is ~1ng/ml under non-reducing and reducing conditions., Immunoprecipitation: Used to immunoprecipitate rhFUT3/5 from conditioned media of transfected NSO cells., Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
