Product information "Anti-CRHR2"
0.5 mg/ml with 0.1 mg/ml BSA (US sourced), 0.05% sodium azide. CHCR2, or Corticotropin releasing hormone receptor 2, is a receptor for CRH (corticotropin-releasing hormone), a neurotransmitter secreted by the hypothalamus in response to stress. There are three major isoforms of CHCR2: alpha, beta and gamma, differing in their N-terminus amino acid sequence. Isoform beta and gamma are expressed in the brain, with gamma expression highest in the septum and hippocampus, while alpha is expressed in the peripheral tissues of the brain. Protein function: G-protein coupled receptor for CRH (corticotropin- releasing factor), UCN (urocortin), UCN2 and UCN3. Has high affinity for UCN. Ligand binding causes a conformation change that triggers signaling via guanine nucleotide-binding proteins (G proteins) and down-stream effectors, such as adenylate cyclase. Promotes the activation of adenylate cyclase, leading to increased intracellular cAMP levels. [The UniProt Consortium]
