Anti-CD3, epsilon (Early T Cell Marker), clone 5K4

CD3epsilon, a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily of cell surface receptors, is comprised of five invariable chain ranging in size from 16-28kD and is closely associated with the T cell antigen receptor (TCR). It is expressed on all T cells of all mouse strains (1,2). CD3 plays a major role in signaling during antigen recognition, leading to T-cell activation. In the presence of Fc receptor-bearing accessory cells, soluble antibody can activate primed and naïve T cell in vitro. Immobilized monoclonal antibody can also activate both normal T lymphocytes and cloned T cell lines provided the appropriate accessory signals are present (1,3,4). The monoclonal antibody is cytolytic, easily used for cell surface staining and a good immunoprecipitating antibody (1). Applications: Suitable for use in Flow cytometry, Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry, In vitro depletion of CD3+ cells and, In vitro activation of T cells (accessory cells must be provided). Other applications have not been tested. , Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
