Anti-CD3, epsilon (Early T Cell Marker), Biotin conjugated, clone 5K4

CD3epsilon, a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily of cell surface receptors, is comprised of five invariable chain ranging in size from 16-28kD and is closely associated with the T cell antigen receptor (TCR). It is expressed on all T cells of all mouse strains (1,2). CD3 plays a major role in signaling during antigen recognition, leading to T-cell activation. In the presence of Fc receptor-bearing accessory cells, soluble antibody can activate primed and naïve T cell in vitro. Immobilized monoclonal antibody can also activate both normal T lymphocytes and cloned T cell lines provided the appropriate accessory signals are present (1,3,4). The monoclonal antibody is cytolytic, easily used for cell surface staining and a good immunoprecipitating antibody (1). Applications:  Identification and enumeration of CD3+ cells by flow cytometry 1, 2,  Immunoprecipitation 1,  In vitro depletion of CD3+ cells 1,  In vitro activation of T cells (accessory cells must be provided) 1, 3, 4,  Immunohistochemistry 5, Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: < 3ug/10e6 cells, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Store at -20°C or colder. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
