Anti-Bim (BOD)

Bim is a pro-apoptotic protein within the Bcl-2 family, which functions within the intrinsic apotosis pathway. Bim is known to interact with pro-survival proteins including Bcl-2, Bcl-XL and Bcl-w. Bim is expressed in a variety of cell types, where it is maintained in an inactive conformation by phosphorylation or through binding to the microtubule-associated dynein motor complex. Upon certain apoptotic stimuli, Bim is released from microtubules and mediates caspase-dependent apoptosis. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000, detects a band of ~22kD in K562 and A549 whole cell lysates. , Immunohistochemistry: Paraffin sectiosn. Requires antigen retrival using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections. Sodium citrate pH 6 is recommended for antigen retrival., Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
