Anti-BAD, phosphorylated (S99) (Bcl-2 Antagonist of Cell Death, BBC6, BCL2L8)

Bcl-2 antagonist of cell death (Bad) is an 18kD cytoplasmic protein in the Bcl-2 family. It functions as a pro-apoptotic molecule by dimerizing with and inhibiting the anti-apoptotic proteins Bcl-2 and Bcl-xL. Prosurvival signals trigger the phosphorylation of Bad on Ser75, Ser99, and Ser115, disrupting its interaction with Bcl-2 and Bcl-xL and resulting in protection from apoptosis. Phosphorylation of Ser75 and Ser99 is also required for the ability of Bad to induce cell cycle arrrest in G1. Human Bad shares 75 % aa sequence identity with mouse and rat Bad. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunocytochemistry: 8-25ug/ml, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
