Product information "Anti-Angiotensin Converting Enzyme (ACE)"
0.5mg/ml if reconstituted with 0.2ml sterile DI water. Angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE), also called DCP or CD143 is a zinc-containing dipeptidyl carboxypeptidase widely distributed in mammalian tissues and is though to play a critical role in blood pressure regulation. This gene is mapped to 17q23.3. This gene encodes an enzyme involved in catalyzing the conversion of angiotensin I into a physiologically active peptide angiotensin II. Protein function: Converts angiotensin I to angiotensin II by release of the terminal His-Leu, this results in an increase of the vasoconstrictor activity of angiotensin. Also able to inactivate bradykinin, a potent vasodilator. Has also a glycosidase activity which releases GPI-anchored proteins from the membrane by cleaving the mannose linkage in the GPI moiety.
