Product information "Anti-AChR (nicotinic)"
0.5mg/ml if reconstituted with 0.2ml sterile DI water. AChR alpha, also called CHRNA, is mapped on 2q24-q32. This gene encodes the alpha subunit of the muscle acetylcholine receptor, which is the main target of pathogenic autoantibodies in autoimmune myasthenia gravis. The protein-coding sequence of the human alpha subunit gene is divided into 9 exons that correspond to different structural and functional domains of the precursor molecule. Protein function: After binding acetylcholine, the AChR responds by an extensive change in conformation that affects all subunits and leads to opening of an ion-conducting channel across the plasma membrane.
