Luciferin is the substrate for luciferase and is used in highly sensitive bioluminescence assays for the detection of ATP, the generation of light is directly proportional to the concentration of ATP. Also used in detection of the luciferase marker gene. Solubility: Methanol, acetone, ethyl acetate, DMF. Slightly soluble in water.
