D-Luciferin

D-Luciferin is a chemiluminescent substrate of firefly luciferase. It produces light upon oxidative decarboxylation by luciferase in the presence of ATP. D-Luciferin can be employed to assay the expression of the luciferase gene linked to a promoter of interest.
