Mutations in this gene are associated with X-linked Snyder-Robinson mental retardation syndrome. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. Protein function: Catalyzes the production of spermine from spermidine and decarboxylated S-adenosylmethionine (dcSAM). [The UniProt Consortium]
