Product information "Anti-Nav1.8 (PN3)"
PN3, also known as Nav 1.8, is a tetrodotoxin-resistant voltage-gated sodium channel expressed predominantly in small sensory neurons. It was originally cloned from a rat dorsal root ganglion (cDNA) library. This channel has been proposed to contribute significantly to the sensitization of primary sensory neurons after injury. Successful and specific antisense-mediated knockdown of PN3 protein in the dorsal root ganglion prevents hyperalgesia and allodynia caused by either chronic nerve or tissue injury. The limited distribution to sensory neurons and evidence that this channel contributes to inflammatory and neuropathic pain position PN3 as an actively pursued drug target for the treatment of chronic pain. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, Immunofluorescence and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1:1000, Immunohistochemistry: 1:1000, Immunofluorescence (IC): 1:100, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
