Product information "Anti-CD48 (BCM1, BCM1 surface antigen, BLAST, BLAST1, B-lymphocyte activation marker BLAST-1, CD48 a"
CD48, also known as BLAST-1, OX45, and BCM1, is a GPI-linked member of the CD2 subfamily of immunoglobulin superfamily proteins. CD48 is expressed on lymphocytes, monocytes, granulocytes, and mast cells. It functions as a co-stimulatory and adhesion molecule that binds CD2, CD229, and 2B4. CD48 also mediates bacterial phagocytosis by mast cells. Human CD48 shares approximately 50% amino acid sequence identity with mouse and rat CD48, respectively. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunocytochemistry and Direct ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunocytochemistry: 25ug/ml will detect CD48 in paraformaldehyde-fixed human PBMC., Direct ELISA: 0.5-1ug/ml Detection limit is ~2ng/well, Western Blot: 1-2ug/ml Detection limit is ~5ng/lane under non-reducing conditions. Reducing conditions is not recommended. Chemiluminescent dtection will increase sensitivity by 5 to 50 fold., Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
