YCT529 is an antagonist of retinoic acid receptor alpha (RARalpha, IC50 = 6.8 nM). It is selective for RARalpha over RARbeta and RARgamma (IC50s = >3,700 nM for both). YCT529 (7.5 mg/kg per week) reversibly reduces epidydimal sperm counts without reducing serum testosterone levels in male mice. It reduces germinal epithelial thickness in male dogs when administered at a dose of 25 mg/kg per day.
