Uridine-5'-monophosphate is a ribonucleotide. It is formed via decarboxylation of orotidine-5'-monophosphate (5'-OMP) by OMP decarboxylase. Uridine-5'-monophosphate is further phosphorylated by uridine-5'-monophosphate-CMP kinase to form UDP (Cay-18137) and UTP (Cay-9003530) during nucleic acid biosynthesis.
