Quinupristin (mesylate)

Quinupristin is a streptogramin antibiotic that blocks peptide bond formation and peptide extension in bacteria. Quinupristin is usually combined with another streptogramin antibiotic, dalfopristin (Cay-19762), to produce quinupristin-dalfopristin complex, known commercially as Synercid.
