Mirabegron

Mirabegron is an agonist of the beta3-adrenergic receptor (beta3-AR). It induces cAMP accumulation in CHO cells expressing the beta3-AR but not the beta1- or beta2-AR (EC50s = 0.0224, >10, and >10 µM, respectively). Mirabegron reduces contraction induced by carbamoylcholine (Cay-14486) of isolated rat and human bladder strips (EC50s = 5.1 and 0.78 µM, respectively). It decreases the frequency of isovolumetric rhythmic bladder contractions in anesthetized rats when administered at a dose 3 mg/kg.
