LAU-0901 is a platelet-activating factor (PAF) receptor antagonist., In vivo, LAU-0901 (30, 60, and 90 mg/kg) reduces infarct volume and improves neurological function in a rat model of cerebral ischemia induced by middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO). It also reduces microglial infiltration and increases astrocytic and neuronal survival in the same model.
