Lasalocid A sodium salt

Colorless powder. Soluble in ethanol, methanol, DMSO, dimethylformamide or water (partly). Ionophore. Potent antibacterial agent and a coccidiostat. Able to form neutral complexes with monovalent and divalent cations and transport them through apolar phase (including lipid bilayer membranes). It can transport also larger organic cations, like protonated dopamine.
