AZD 1656

AZD 1656 is an activator of hexokinase-4 (HK4). It activates HK4 and induces glucose phosphorylation in a cell-free assay (EC50 = 61 nM). AZD 1656 (0.3 mg/kg) decreases blood glucose levels in an oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) in rats.
