Anti-Somatostatin Receptor Type 2 (SSTr2)

Somatostatin Receptor 2 (SSTr2) is one of five 7-transmembrane G-protein-coupled receptors for somatostatins 14 and 28. Human SSTr2 shares 84% aa identity with mouse SSTr2 within the extracellular domains. Isoform B (357aa) has an alternate C-terminal cytoplasmic region that is 12aa shorter than that of isoform A (369aa, reported as 93kD). Both are expressed in brain, stomach, intestinal epithelia, pancreatic islets and kidney tubules. Isoform B is also expressed in parotid, thyroid and bronchial glands. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Immunocytochemistry and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilutions: Flow Cytometry (Intercellular staining): 2.5ug labels 10e6 cells. MDA-MB-231 human breast cancer cell line fixed with paraformaldehyde and permeabilized with saponin., Immunocytochemistry: 8-25ug/ml. Immersion fixed MDA-MB-231 human breast cancer cell line., Immunohistochemistry: 8-25ug/ml. Immersion fixed paraffin-embedded sections of human brain (cingulate cortex), Optimal dilutions to be determined by researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
