Anti-Mouse IFN gamma NALE(TM) Purified (Clone: R4-6A2)

The R4-6A2 monoclonal antibody specifically reacts with mouse interferon gamma (IFN-gamma), an acid-labile interferon produced by CD4 and CD8 T lymphocytes as well as activated NK cells. IFN gamma receptors are present in most immune cells, which respond to its signaling by increasing the surface expression of class I MHC proteins. This promotes the presentation of antigen to T-helper (CD4+) cells. Additionally, it stimulates a number of lymphoid cell functions, including the anti-microbial and anti-tumor responses of macrophages, NK cells, and neutrophils. Protein function: Produced by lymphocytes activated by specific antigens or mitogens. IFN-gamma, in addition to having antiviral activity, has important immunoregulatory functions. It is a potent activator of macrophages, it has antiproliferative effects on transformed cells and it can potentiate the antiviral and antitumor effects of the type I interferons.
