Anti-Monocyte Chemotactic Protein-1 (MCP-1), clone 3H237

Monocyte chemotactic and activating factor (MCAF) is also called monocyte chemotactic protein-1 (MCP-1) and chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 2 (CCL2). It is primarily secreted by monocytes, macrophages and dendritic cells. This cytokine displays chemotactic activity for monocytes, T-cells, and basophils, but not for neutrophils or eosinophils. MCAF causes the degranulation of basophils and mast cells, and augments the activity of monocyte and macrophage. MCAF plays an important role in inflammation, angiogenesis, auto- immune diseases, renal diseases, chronic infection and granuloma formation. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Neutralization. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Neutralizing Activity: This antibody has been shown to neuralize recombinant human MCP-1 (at 1nM)-induced monocyte chemotaxi in blind well chemotaxis chambers., Optimal dilutions to be determined by researcher, Fusion Myeloma: Sp2/0-Ag14 myeloma cells. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
