LSD1 is a flavin-containing novel nuclear protein having an N-terminal SWIRM domain and a C-terminal FAD-binding motif and an amine oxidase domain. It functions as a transcriptional corepressor and catalyzes the flavin-dependent demethylation of Lys4 of histone3 resulting in the formation of methyl-free lysine and release of formaldehyde. LSD1 has been found to be typically associated with CoREST and histone deacetylases 1 and 4 and participates in the silencing of endogenous neuron-specific genes. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 0.5-2ug/ml, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Brain lysate, Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
