Anti-Chicken Interferon Gamma

This product was protein A purified from monospecific antiserum by chromotography. This antibody is specific for chicken IFN gamma protein. A BLAST analysis was used to suggest cross-reactivity with IFN gamma from chicken, turkey, guineafowl, rock pigeon, and zebra finch sources based on 100% homology with the immunizing sequence. Cross-reactivity with IFN gamma from other sources has not been determined. Protein function: Produced by lymphocytes activated by specific antigens or mitogens. IFN-gamma, in addition to having antiviral activity, has important immunoregulatory functions. It is a potent activator of macrophages, it has antiproliferative effects on transformed cells and it can potentiate the antiviral and antitumor effects of the type I interferons.
