Anti-c-erbB2 (HER-2, neu Receptor) (BSA & azide free), clone 3F36

c-erbB-2 is a receptor tyrosine kinase of the c-erbB family. Approximately 25% of primary breast and ovarian tumors were found to overexpress the protein. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunoprecipitation. Not suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilutions: Inhibits Binding of EGF (~70%), NDF (~40%): 25-50ug/ml [N87 human gastric carcinoma cell line (expresses c-erbB-1, -2, and -3) and T47D human breast cancer cell line (expresses all four c-erbB receptors)]. Intact IgG as well as monovalent fragments (Fab) inhibit the binding of EGF/NDF. Inhibits the binding of EGF/NDF by interfering with the formation of c-erbB-2-containing heterodimers. The inhibitory effect is due to acceleration of ligand dissociation which results in reduction of the ability of c-erbB-2 to transactivate the mitogenic signals of EGF/NDF., Inhibits Mitogenic Effect of EGF/NDF: 50ug/ml, Inhibits Tumor Growth (~85%): 350ug/injection given I.P. on day 3, 7, 10 post subcutaneous inoculation of N87 cells (3x10e6) in CD1/nude mice., Internalization of c-erbB-2: 40ug/ml , Stimulation of c-erbB-2 Phosphorylation: 20ug/ml, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: SKBR-3 cells, Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
