Anti-ASCL2 (Achaete-Scute Complex Homolog 2 (Drosophila), Achaete-scute Homolog 2, ASH2, ASH-2, bHLH

ASCL2 is a class II member of the HLH family of transcription factors. Its predicted MW is 20kD. ASCL2 shows restricted expression, being limited to intestinal Lgr5+ stem cells and first trimester placental cytotrophoblasts. In the intestine, ASCL2 is under the control of Wnts and serves to maintain an epithelium stem cell pool. In the placenta, ASCL2 acts to maintain the pool of cytotrophoblasts at the expense of synctiotrophoblasts, thus promoting placental growth. Human ASCL2 is 193aa in length. It contains one poly-Arg motif (aa36-39), a DNA binding sequence (aa53-63) and an HLH domain (aa64-103). ASCL2 forms heterodimers with daughterless homologs (E22, E2A and HEB). Over aa1-49, human ASCL2 shares 59aa identity with mouse Mash2. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1ug/ml, Immunohistochemistry: 5-15ug/ml, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
